Conference President
Mr. Osama Najjar is the General Director of Allied Health Services at the Palestinian Ministry of Health and the syndicate of the Palestinian Medical Technology Association. In addition, he is the President of the Arab Federation of Clinical Biology. Mr. Najjar holds a master degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences and a high diploma in Management for Middle Managers. He is an astute manager who led the capacity building of Lab. Medicine in Palestine particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. He has also several research activities and coauthored several publications.
Scientific Committee Chair
Dr. Abu Seir is an Assistant Professor of Hematology and a research activist at the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences, current Dean of the Faculty of Health Professions University and Assistant President for Medical and Health Affairs at Al-Quds. She has been an academician and astute educator. She is the author/co-author of several chapters and publications cancer, cancer risk factors, hematology and blood banking, and other fields.

1. PhD in Medical Parasitology from Germany. 2. Main research interest is leishmaniasis. 3. Head of research laboratory in Jericho 4. Teaching experience in Al-Quds University and Arab American University.

Published more than 40 research papers in international reputed Journal. Participated in many international and national conferences and workshops. Awarded many prizes in scientific research. Obtained many grants in different research fields. A Fulbright candidate as a senior research scholar. Supervised many master theses in medical sciences.
Medical Microbiology
Head, Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences, Faculty of Health Profession, Al-Quds University. My field of interests is molecular typing of microbial pathogens, mechanisms of antibiotic resistance, molecular diagnosis of microbial infections and Molecular epidemiology of Nosocomial infection.
Clinical Microbiology and Public Health
Dr Musa Hindiyeh is the Director of Caritas Baby Hospital Clinical Laboratory and Infection Control Program and the director of Augusta Victoria Hospital laboratories and a founding member of the Palestinian Forum for Medical Research (PFMR). He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Medicine and his PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in the United States. He did a post-doctoral Fellowship in Diagnostic Microbiology and Public Health at the University of Utah. Dr Hindiyeh has double American board certifications in clinical laboratory medicine and in diagnostic microbiology (ASCP and Diplomat ABMM). Recently Dr. Hindiyeh was appointed as one of the Molecular Medical Microbiology book editors.

Graduated from the Universities of Hertfordshire, Oxford and the Institute of Animal Health – Pirbright with a Ph.D. on the structural basis of antigenicity in foot-and-mouth disease. Currently working on zoonotic animal viruses.

Dr. Adham Abu Taha has a B.SC from Al-Quds University in Palestine. He got his Masters and PhD degrees from the Northeastern University in Boston, USA. He is a member of the faculty human medicine of An-Najah University and he is the lab director of An-Najah National University Hospital in Nablus.
Hematology
I obtained my PhD in Medical Sciences at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) in 2014. I investigated the role of invariant natural killer T cells (iNKT cells) in Multiple Myeloma. In the last three years I was awarded ZAMALAH (in Belgium) and ERASMUS+ ICM (in Italy) scholarships, and a grant from the Palestinian Ministry of Higher Education. The future perspectives are focused on the study of breast cancer in Palestine, and the role of the Nrf2 pathway in the development of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.

Associate prof. pf medical molecular virology; Research interest: investigating the molecular epidemiology of different medical epidemic viruses in Palestine with focusing currently on the molecular surveillance of the SARS-COV2.

Srour earned his PhD from Bonn University, Germany. Research interests include Hematological disorders including Hemophilia, thalassemia and immunohematology.
Genetics
Dr. Nouar Qutob holds a Ph.D. and an Mphil in Biological Sciences from the University of Cambridge in England. After completing her studies, Nouar became a postdoctoral research fellow at the Weizmann Institute of Science. Her research work focused on using both genetic and functional studies to identify and functionally characterize new drivers in cancer and she has a number of publications in the field. Dr. Nouar joined the Arab American University in 2018 as an Assistant Professor and is currently Assistant Dean for Scientific Research and Head of the Health Science Department at the Faculty of Graduate Studies. Dr. Qutob is also the Vice President of the Palestinian Forum for Medical research.

During my academic and non-academic professional career, I developed experienced leadership with expertise in organizational management, team building, recruiting staff, faculty development, motivation, and conflict resolution; demonstrated managerial skills by increasing quality and quantity of recruiting for academic staff.
Molecular Genetics
Saad did his higher education at the University Medical Centre-Groningen-The Netherlands. In 2004, he and another 5 students were chosen from the whole world for a scholarship to conduct their Master degree. After one year of his master degree, the committee found he was overqualified and he started immediately a PhD project. Before finishing his PhD, he was offered a Postdoctoral position. In 2018, he did a postdoctoral fellowship at San Raffaelle Hospital, Milan, Italy. Saad now is a lecturer and researcher at the Faculty of Medicine, An-Najah National University and established and he is the head of Clinical Molecular Genetics laboratory at An-Najah National University Hospital. The current h- and i10-index of Saad is 13 and the number of citations on his publications is above 1246 citations.

Suheir Ereqat is Dean Assistant and Associate professor of molecular biology at Biochemistry and Molecular biology department, faculty of medicine/ Al-Quds University. Her interests focused on using and developing of molecular techniques for diagnosis of infectious diseases and study the molecular epidemiology of these diseases with special focus on sequence and phylogenetic analysis.

Amjad Hussein received his Ph.D. degrees in Medical Sciences from Kanazawa University, Japan. Currently, a staff member at the Faculty of Medicine and the Director of Analysis, Poison Control and Calibration Center / An-Najah National University. His Ph.D. research were about protozoan genotyping and molecular characterization of gram negative bacteria drug resistance.

Dr. Attili, is an Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacy and Medical Science, Hebron University. Her research interests are molecular diagnostics new markers in different diseases especially Stroke. She is both member in the fund raising, communication and media committee in the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World-Palestine National Chapter.
Applied Statistics
Ms. Lana Nazzal is a holder of a Master's Degree in Applied Statistics from Birzeit University. She is the Director of the Archives and Information Department- General Directorate of Paramedical Services at Ministry of Health. She is a member in many national associations. She participates in data collection and statistical analysis of many researches and also volunteers in coordinating the International Palestinian Conference of Laboratory Medicine.
